Anduril Industries, a U.S. defense contractor, is planning to build a large advanced manufacturing facility called "Arsenal 1" in central Ohio, which will create 4,000 jobs.
The facility will be located near Rickenbacker International Airport in Pickaway County and is expected to begin production of military drones and autonomous air vehicles by July 2026.
This project is the largest single job creation and payroll initiative announced in Ohio, according to Governor Mike DeWine.
Ohio's strong aerospace workforce and network of job training centers, colleges, and universities helped attract this project.
The aerospace sector in Ohio includes prominent companies like GE Aerospace and Joby Aviation.
The "silicon corridor" in Ohio is growing with significant investments from companies like Intel, Honda, and LG Energy Solution.
The Anduril project will seek a job creation tax credit and funding from the All Ohio Future Fund and JobsOhio.
It's an exciting development for Ohio's high-tech sector!
